A&M Records - Founded by Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss in 1962, A&M Records helped shape the history of American music. This legendary company featured an all-star roster of artists including Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, The Carpenters, Joe Cocker, Janet Jackson, Quincy Jones, Sergio Mendes, The Police, Cat Stevens, Sting, Styx, Supertramp, and many others.
-
Alpert and Moss donated their company’s papers to the UCLA Music Library
Special Collections, where they form an invaluable resource for the study of
American popular music. The collection includes sound recordings,
manuscript musical arrangements, correspondence, photographs,
promotional materials, posters, gold albums, books, and collectibles.
